Heat Pump – Water Heater
- The heat from Ambient Air is absorbed by evaporator coils containing refrigerant at low pressure and low temperature.
- Due to heat absorption, the refrigerant boils & vaporizes. After passing through the compressor, the refrigerant attains high temperature & high pressure and enters the condenser with a heat exchanger.
- While condensing the refrigerant transfers heat to the water in the Heat Exchanger and thus loses its temperature.
- The refrigerant further loses its pressure & temperature while passing through the expansion valve and entering the evaporator chamber.
- Thus the cycle repeats. The COP ( Coefficient of Performance ) is between 3.5 to 4 which means that it will produce 3.5 to 4 units of heat energy by consuming 1 unit of electricity.
